Ski news from Butlins in the Alps
A missive from Birmingham
web pioneer and snow lover Chris Tomlinson.
You may recall that the boy is back doing his winter
chalet maid bit.
The keen skier, and husband of Headline Communication’s Dawn Roberts, has this posh bolt hole at Morzine in the French Alps.

And that is where he spends his winters … as you do.
Rents it and then sub lets it out – well a bit of
skivvying is a small price to pay for being able to play on the slopes during
the season.
Anyway, my latest jibes about him being “pretty in a pinny”
have produced a response.
He emails: “Yes, I’m in the Alps again this winter feeding
the good and the not-so-great of Birmingham
bacon and eggs, then trying to kill them on the mountain.
“One golden rule of the lads skiing trip is that ‘what goes on tour stays on tour’. So I'd be a poor host if I divulged any of the antics that go on in Chalet Neige and the surrounding bars.”

How disappointing.
I thought a bit of ‘smut in the snow’ would have gone down
well with the troops back home.
But Tomlinson (seen here relaxing after a hard morning tied to the stove) is playing it cautious.
“Readers will have to wait until I publish my memoirs,
Confessions Of A Chalet Boy, to get the dirt.
“I'm collecting photographic evidence to accompany the book.”
Excellent news.
I bid £20 for the serialisation rights.
